Plugin configuration
The scripts in these guides read a small set of environment variables. Keep them in your shell profile or a secrets manager, not in the repository.
#Variables

AULD_API_KEY / AULD_MCP_TOKEN | Yes | Key for hook scripts, or token for MCP clients |
AULD_VIEWER | Yes | Your identity id |
AULD_AUDIENCE | No | Team audience for shared notes; unset means private |
AULD_RECALL_TOKENS | No | Recall budget per prompt (default 1,500) |
AULD_CAPTURE | No | summary (default), explicit or off |
#Excluding files and repositories
Hook scripts should skip sending when the working directory matches a pattern you list:

- At session end, send a short summary of decisions — not the full transcript.
- explicit
- Only send when you say “remember …”.

- Recall only; nothing is sent.
